The lithe grey tom cat lay on his own, his tail curled neatly around his body as he lay casually in the camp. He was tired, but he hated napping in the middle of the day. What if he missed something important? What if a beautiful she-cat was looking for him and he didn't know!? The patched tom cat sighed and yawned, looking up at the sky longingly. No one to talk to, nothing to do, it was all a bit boring. BadgerFrost shrugged to himself and began to groom his shiny pelt, always conscious of his looks. L

The only thing that's ever stopping me is me, hey!
A flash of brown could be seen darting around the camp as young Jackalpaw helped her clanmates complete simple tasks. Where one cat might ask for moss to line the dens, another might task her with collecting the feathers of plucked birds that had been discarded in the soft grasses in the clearing, where cats had finished their breakfast that morning. It didn't matter if Jackalpaw was clearing-bound while her mentor, Boulderstorm was away on patrol; she was going to play her part in getting Windclan settled into their new home.
Padding across the clearing, Jackalpaw carried several long grass stalks in her mouth over to Cobrastrike, where the tuxedo tom was busy weaving a wall together to protect the camp entrance. She dumped the pile at his paws, meowed something inaudible to any cat listening, and began to bound away to find something else she could help with. In times like this, Jackalpaws endless supply of energy was actually useful for her clanmates, rather than the annoyance it could be in Jackalpaw had nothing to do but sit and twiddle her paws. 183 words

Hearing the sounds of small paws darting all around was starting to get to BadgerFrost. Looking up from his grooming, he spied JackalPaw darting about looking for something to do. Bored out of his mind, he thought he'd entertain the she-cat. "Hey!" he purred, standing, "JackalPaw! You wanna come hunting with me? It's no fun hunting alone" he faked a little pout. He did hate to leave camp on his own, he felt oddly nervous about it. Probably because of the new territory, or at least that's what he told himself. The hhhaaaannndsome warrior watched the apprentice to see if she said yes, which he was sure she would. L
