Marigoldpelt
Marigold hesitated as Mushroomstar did the same with his announcement of medicine cat. She held her breath as she watched him move over to a she and whisper. She daren't move a muscle. Though a strong believer in StarClan, she also believed that the medicine cats needed certain skills to be as good as needed in times like this. It almost seemed like he'd plucked his choice out of a hat. Fawnstep, who approached, spoke with a strong tone, one not wavering the nervousness that stared her back. She dipped her head back respectfully, though curiosity bit at her tongue. Her eyes met ice cold, and she suppressed a shiver. She only hoped the she-cat was nicer than the look she was giving. Marigold gave her a smile, public face cheery as ever.
"Great to meet you, Fawnstep. StarClan told me we would meet, although they did not disclose what we would discuss when we did meet. Do you have any ideas?" Her tone was soft and innocent, prying questions snuck into her velvety tones.
Her pale green eyes wandered to the other WindClanners, spotting a few younger ones. She shivered at the thought of them not surviving the ever-lasting leafbare. Then she turned her attention to her own clan. Froglegs' stubbornness to speak to his mate, the apprentices, Owlpaw and Maplepaw, sticking together. She hoped the journey would bring both Clans closer, and there would be less challenges along the way than they had faced already.

”Anything that is beautiful, people want to break.” Maplepaw tried to stick as close to Owlpaw as she could, keeping a close watch on Otterkit, whom at the moment was riding on the tom's back. A small giggle escaped her maw at the strange sight of this, and she nudged his jaw gently with her freckled cheek. She tried not to think of the life she was leaving behind in her camp, but instead looked ahead at the cats in this huge congregation. Windclan was here, and it seemed that they had begun introductions. /Good. Once we learn everyones names we can go!/ She grinned happily, wanting to move as soon as possible away from the freezing snow that stuck in her fur at every point. Out of the corner of her eye, the brown molly saw Otterkit slip off of Owlpaw's back, and she carefully leaned over and snatched him up my the scruff. "No, no. You're not going anywhere without us." She chided, setting the small kit at her paws and licking the top of his head gently. "Its okay, little one. Stay here until we find your mother." The dark tabby flattened his ears as a gust of icy wind swept past him as he strolled down another alleyway. By his side, another rogue, paler and looking more worse for wear. He ignored the coughs and splutters from the tom, knowing his snaps would be lost to the wind. His paws, numb from the constant freeze, trailed a path which was quickly covered up again; one of the only positives of this snowstorm. They had heard rumours, whispers of clan cats in their city. Rumours which he was set out to follow up on. He wouldn't have these clan cats become thieves of his prey in his city. Teeth bared in a snarl at the thought, body thin at the lack of prey and food. He'd become a scavenger in the cold, but was wiling to lose his morals and munch on cat, however skinny these clan cats would be.
Direstrait glanced about, one working eye flashing as he watched for any sign of movement. There. There was a cluster of cats, moving slowly through the snow. Clustered together like a group of deer and they were the hungry wolves, itching to take them out. His claws sank into the snow, stopping at the frosted ground beneath and withdrew them, the cold too much for now. He glanced to his companion, eyes narrowed with a raised eyebrow.
"Would you like the honours, rabid boy, or shall I pick out an easy one? I'm itching for a bite," his jaws snapped shut in a wicked grin, lashing his tail.
Join them or kill them? He favoured the latter, but knew the former would be the best long term option. Only if they stayed in line. He stuck to the shadows, following just a distance away from the cats lagging behind at the back. His jaws almost salivated at the thought of fresh prey. His eyes surveyed the group, picking and choosing someone to disrupt. To cause a little fuss, a little drama. Kick-start the journey to the new lands with a sick joke. He drew out into the open, padding softly behind an apprentice at the back. The tabby shot forward, grasping a hind leg of Maplepaw, not hard enough to draw blood, but enough to cause a fuss at the back. These skinny kids at the back couldn't take him down, fueled by anger and starvation, he was more powerful than expected. Especially alongside DeNiro, coughing blood definitely screamed weak. He was glad his body hadn't reached that point... yet.
"What's for lunch, little clan kitties?" he purred, deep and muffled by the leg fur of Maplepaw. Ever so dramatic. He liked to cause a little fear, show some dominance above these clan cats.

”Anything that is beautiful, people want to break.” Maplepaw had been whispering quietly to Otterkit, her head bent down and eyes half closed as she comforted the tiny kit about his lost mother. Because of this, she had not even a lingering sense of the tom that had snuck up behind her until it was too late. The fur shot up along her spine in fear as she felt teeth in her back leg. Immediately the she-cat pushes the small kit away from her and screeched, trying to tug her leg away from the mysterious attacker. "Not me, if that's what you mean!" She cried out, tears filling in her eyes and bubbles in her throat. "Please don't eat me!" She cried out in fear, her tail lashing to and fro as she tried to get away from the tom. Ooh woo, I'm a rebel just for kicks now.
Owlpaw let out a chuckle when Otterkit whispered about Starclan cursing him. He couldn't tell the young kitten that he didn't believe in Starclan, so instead he just slowly nodded his head and played along. "You're right, Otterkit. I'm sorry, Starclan! Please forgive me." Tilting his head to the side in order to view the kitten close to his shoulder blades, Owlpaw offered a soft smile. "Do you think I've been forgiven?"
As he drew nearer to Maplepaw, Owlpaw felt himself slow down. Otterkit was whispering in his ear, something about meeting his mother here? Furrowing his brow in confusion, Owlpaw tossed his head to the side in order to put the kitten in his sight once again. "What? Meeting your Mo- oh. Oh..." Owlpaw felt his body stiffen as the realization of what Otterkit thought was happening hit him straight in the chest. That was right, his mother hadn't come to Shadowclan with him, had she? Oh god, Otterkits mother most likely perished in the snow and the poor kitten was completely unaware of it. How would Owlpaw explain it to him? He knew how hard it was to process a parents death at such a young age, he had gone through it himself!
The tan tabby snapped back to the here-and-now as Maplepaw scooped Otterkit close to her, using one of her front paws to lift him from the snow and bring him closer to her warm body. Owlpaw hadn't even realized Otterkit slid down his back- thank the Stars Maplepaw was able to catch him before he got lost in the crowds. With a sullen expression, Owlpaw closed the remaining gap between him and the other two felines, anxiety at what he had to tell Otterkit biting at his paws.
"Listen, Otterkit... I'm not sure how to tell you this, but there's something you need to hear." Taking a deep breath, Owlpaw lowered himself to be closer to the brown tom. "I need you to stay strong, okay? Maplepaw and I are going to be here for you, so you don't have to go through this alone. But your Momma, Otterkit.... she-"
Before Owlpaw could actually get out what he was trying to say, Maplepaw let out a terrified screech and cut him off. Owlpaw jerked his head around to see what had caused such a horrific noise to escape the mollies mouth. Instantly his eyes locked onto Direstrait and how the unfamiliar tom had his teeth attached to Maplepaws leg. Rage surged through him as Owlpaw raised himself to his full height, something that wasn't very impressive considering he was shorter than your average nine month old cat, as a growl rumbled free from his throat.
"And who the fuck do you think you are?" Owlpaw hissed as his claws slid out of their sheaths. He didn't give Direstrait a chance to respond before he sprung away from the snow, using all the strength he had in his skinny body to launch himself at the bigger feline. A yowl escaped his jaws as he connected with the dark tabby, slashing his claws wildly in front of him while attempting to force the tom backward, away from Maplepaw and the rest of the Clan cats. 538 Words

--Mushroomstar gave a sharp look to Vipernose "Are you deaf in shadowclan my dear? I have repeated my name plenty of times just as Fallenstar did to me." He growled before looking at Fallenstar "I respect your name, make them respect mine or things will not go pretty. " Mushroomstar lashed his tail a bit glancing over at Fawnstep giving her a curt nod that she was doing a good job. He then meowed at Fallenstar as well as raising his voice to the others in each clan "Now how about we get going huh? I know not all of you have big coats like me, and standing here isn't helping. You need to all be walking and sticking close together for warmth. Chop chop!" He groaned softly turning away only to notice something suspicious going on. An amused look came across his face as a rogue decided to make their appearance behind shadowclan. He gave Fallenstar a nudge. "It seems we got a dumb-witted rogue trying to cause something." He then meowed loudly at the rogue "Hey you! Are you daft? I mean you clearly must be a moron to approach two large group of cats and even try to kidnap a child. Like are you trying to get yourself killed? Because you sure seem like you want to get into a tussle." He gave a laugh. Rogues were so dumb. There was over 20 clan cats here and they decided to come make some trouble? Mushroomstar had been hunted all his life, it was no surprise he noticed the suspicious behavior in the back. After all if he didn't noticed things happening far off he probably would've been assassinated by the founder family or something. Well then again the apprentices of shadowclan were being just as dumb. One of them launching at the rogue.
Mushroomstar took this as an opportunity to show they were team mates with shadowclan, he took charge in this shadowclan affair. The rather large, wide, long fur tom made his way towards the back. Either the cats of shadowclan moved or were suddenly shoved to the side. His claws unseathed from his paws as he approached. "Hey apprentices, don't be dumb. There's a life lesson!" He wheezed in laughter shoving owlpaw from the rogue as well as digging his claws into the rogues nose "Tsk tsk, listen here. You don't make moved on clans. I could cripple you beyond repair if you touch them again." Yes for a cat with truly only one life he sure was cocky again being a leader. A crooked grin laid on the toms face as he held the cats nose with his claws. Oh he wasn't kidding with the crippling, after all thats what he did to poor Ol Whitedream... --

This little girl is capable of murder. Fawnstep bowed her softly rounded head down towards Marigoldpelt in greeting, then shook it slightly as the female asked about what their meeting was supposed to be about. Fawnstep herself hadn't known she was going to be medicine cat until... honestly that very moment, but she did have one idea. It was a test from Starclan. To test Mushroomstar or Fawnstep herself she didn't know, but that's what it had to be! Why else would they send a dream to this she cat to meet with the Windclan medicine cat when they obviously would have known Windclan didn't even have one! ....Well, now they did. She knew this would be a tough job, but the molly had memorized things before, how were plants any different?
The white and brown she cat froze as she heard the distressed wail from a small apprentice at the back of the Shadowclangroup."Should I do something?" She hissed to herself, worry for the tiny she cat furrowing her brow. Fawnstepwas just about to stand up when Mushroomstar sauntered over to the rogue who seemed to cause this commotion by biting the apprentice's leg and basically threatened him his life. /Well, if that's what has to be done, we can count on Mushroomstarto do it./ She thought to herself, forcing her fur to lay flat as she watched the commotion unfold with slitted blue eyes. Everything would be fine. 233 words

I hope somebody's gonna hold my tongue. Owlpaw was beyond furious. How dare some low life city cat strut up to his Maplepaw and sink his dirty teeth into her leg. Owlpaw was going to kill him, he was going to skin this good for nothing, waste of space rogue alive and paint the snow with his blood. "Whatever bitch gave birth to you deserves to have her throat slit so she can't have any more mistakes," Owlpaw hissed at Direstrait as Mushroomstar sauntered over to them. He gave a yowl of protest as the larger tom not-so-gently shoved him out of his way, effectively cutting him off from sinking his claws further into this rogue's stupid face. He glared at Mushroomstar for a few moments as the tom said whatever bullshit he felt like spouting off to the newcomer before using one of his free paws to smack the leader in his side, though he doubts he felt anything under that layer of fur, even if Owlpaw had managed to rip out a few strands.
"Hey, fatass," Owlpaw snarled at the Windclan leader. "This isn't any of your fucking business, you aren't a Shadowclanner. So why don't you take your superficial threats elsewhere and sit your ass down. By the amount of weight you're carrying, I have a feeling you're proficient at that, huh?" He didn't know who this tom was, nor did he care. He was getting in his way, and Owlpaw didn't have time to deal with a second nuisance. Direstrait was dead meat and Owlpaw wasn't going to let anything get in the way of taking out his anger on the dark tabby.
While Direstrait was seemingly uninterested in Owlpaws presence, the Shadowclan tom took this as his chance to re-engage the rogue. He lept for a second time, channeling his strength into his front legs as he pounced on Direstraits back and instantly sank his claws into the skin underneath the short fur. He craned his neck in order to latch onto the back of the tabbies neck, tasting blood as it squirts into his mouth. All he wanted to do was hurt this tom, to make him regret laying a single claw on Maplepaw, and in his moment of fury, Owlpaw didn't realize how open to attack he was. He could be attacked by any other cat or even squished if the adult feline were to drop to the ground and roll on him. Owlpaw hadn't planned his attack in any regards, he just saw red and knew he wanted Direstrait to suffer. 422 words

there was a TIME when i was ALONE NO WHERE to GO and NO PLACE to CALL HOME
As Maplepaw snatched Otterkit back up he let out a little whine "I need to go on my own, Maplepaw!" His voice squeaky with the need to go find his mother. Why couldn't she just let him go? If Shadowclan was so nice and stuff it wouldn't hurt to go find her while he was surrounded by them! Frustrated tears fulled his gaze and he let out a low wail. "I'm old enough to go out on my own!"
Doubt made his limbs tremble, Owlpaw had been talking about something serious and he was afraid that something had happened. His mother was fine... right?
Suddenly he was being pushed away, his wails being washed away with a horrific cry. His ears rung and he was super confused. Why was she screaming now? Had he hurt his feelings? Then he spotted a figure behind her. "M-maplepaw?" His eyes wide as he skittered to the side, peering at the tom.
Then Owlpaw was leaping forward and Otterkit let out a pretty fine screech that only a kit could achieve "Owlpaw, maplepaw, STOP" He scrambled forward to try slip in between everyone, his tail lashing frantically. The kit suddenly flinched as a large shadow fell over the squabbling cats and he leaped to the side, eyes wide. Looking at the orange cat he let out a long sigh, finally! A smart cat.
He didn't really understand the 'cripple beyond repair' but he got the sense this cat was full with honor. An expression of pleasure wafted onto his lips and he looked up to the orange tabby with wide eyes. "Excuse me, mister, I think the rogue is pretty um-dumb indeed"
He then threw his eyes to Owlpaw "Stop swearing" He let out an irrated kitten hiss "Please" He murmured

You’re doing the right thing, Basil. You got this. You can do it. The thin molly had been following the hoard of cats as they made their way throughout the city. Instinctively, she stayed many fox lengths away, making sure not to be seen but always keeping them in sight. Sure, she realized that her action might come off as a bit creepy, but Basil knew this was the only way to survive. It had been moons since the tiny up-walkers picked her out of the damp and disheveled card board box she was sharing with what she had always assumed to be her siblings. Within moments she was put into a basket in a quiet monster that was missing two wheels and hard shell. The molly remembered watching the city whiz past her and the stopping at a large building that seemed to reach the sky. Basil had been shoved into a jacket and remained there for what seemed like hours. Finally, she was released into this tiny cave with soft floors. The tiny up-walkers gave her a bowl of milk and some crackers which were rather tasty. It was also at the time that she received her name. She remembered being grateful. She also remembered a small red light that would move so fast and seemed impossible to catch. However, the fondness of that memory was quickly shattered when a larger up-walker entered the cave. There was yelling and Basil cowered under the up-walker’s nest, only to be dragged out again by their leader. The next part was a blur. The tiny kitten was outside on the street again with no where to call home...
Moons later, the ivory and brown molly had somewhat adapted to city life. She learned to avoid all cats at all costs and that if she wanted to survive, she had to fend for herself. There wasn’t a day that went by that she didn’t feel lonely. What she longed for most was a companion. Someone to talk too. Though, most of the city cats were loners and the ones that did travel in small groups seemed to cause all sorts of trouble. Now Basil was here: following the largest group of cats she had seen to the edge of the city. She would admit it, she was honestly jealous when she first discovered the hoard. Sure, there were a lot of disputes and they seemed to be suffering just like she was, if not more, but they had one another to talk to. One night she had dreamed of joining their ranks and making friends. It was the first time in a long time that she actually felt happy. So in the morning, she set out to find the group. The poor Molly hadn’t really thought out what she was to say or do, but it didn’t really matter considering they weren’t in the typical spot she usually found them. It only took her a few minutes to track down their scent in the frosty air. Keeping close, Basil followed them until they... stopped? The confused feline wondered what the hold up was until she saw another large group of cats off in the distance. Her heart jumped, with both excitement and nervousness, at the sight of so many cats. The nerves overpowered her and she dipped off to the side, leaping onto a nearby concrete wall and pressing her belly down onto the cold surface as she watched. There seemed to be a a lot of formalities going on between the two groups. A lot of talking. She saw another cat just slip into the ranks, and she wondered if she should just do the same. But of course, a rather large tom had to come and cause a commotion before she could move. Disgust and worry tugged at her pelt as she watched the rogue approach the apprentices. Everything seemed to happen so fast, and then a bulky orange cat approached the threat. He must be the one in charge, Basil observed silently. Now she was town between two options: slip in like originally planned or do something? With a detemined huff, Basil leapt off the wall and cautiously approached the group, coming up being Direstrait. She stopped a few fox lengths away as one of the smaller cats all of the sudden make an attack. Her green eyes widened and her jaw dropped. Sure the move seemed brace and heroic, but it was overall mouse-brained. The typical introverted feline sucked in a deep breath and attempted to stand taller. If she were to join this group, she was intent on making a better version of herself: a version unafraid of confrontation. “Hey...hey now,” her voice was soft and kind, similar to a mother comforting a kit that had awaken from a night mare. “I think,” she paused, regaining her composure before proceeding with more confidence and a stronger tone, “I think it’s obvious that no one is going to benefit from a foolish fight.” Glancing over at Direstrait, she continued, “We all just want to survive. We want to make it through this cold. We don’t want to be alone...atleast I don’t.” She ended the sentence by looking at Mushroomstar, the one who seemed to be in charge. Her look was one of hopes, hopes that she would be accepted into whatever sort of family this was. It was at the moment that any remaining adrenaline in her body had disappeared and she fully recognized the situation she had gotten herself into. With a weary step back, she added, “I just think it would be smart to stick together.” Although her body movements gave off signs of uneasiness, her tone remained firm.

i'll sleep when i'm dead, a revolution is waking up in my head The brightly hued feminine was getting impatient. She was done with talking, she wanted to move. Her tail lashed back and forth, her paws kneading into the ground. Still, the clans seemed to be fine to sit around and yowl back and forth at each other. Since when did Mushroomstar actually listen to another clan? Her eyes narrowed as she threw her head over her shoulder, scanning the cats milling around behind her. Her gaze landed on Frostkit. She frowned at his surprised expression before biting her lip. What's up with him? Then it clicked and she glanced at the newly appointed Medicine Cat. Fawnleaf? Something like that. Tossing her orbs back to him she tried to catch his eye, to give him a knowing look. Just to creep him out.
Then another cat caught her gaze, Vipernose. She had talked to the feminine once and she had gotten the gist she was messed up. And now she was deputy? Maybe not the most mentally suited for the job, but at the same time, she was just harsh enough for the clan. For Shadowclan. Not her problem. At all.
Shaking her head she took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, watching her breath in the cold air. She tried to relax, let the tense knot in her chest dissipate. It was working until she heard faint yowling through the wind. Whipping her head around to the commotion she was storming over to her former clan in a heartbeat. Head tossed into the air she shouldered past the other cats with disdainful snorts. She noticed some of them looking at her with faint recognition and she smiled at them(more a bare of her teeth), let them talk. Let them know what side she was on.
As she finally made her way to the cats, pawsteps behind Mushroombelly she balked. Owlpaw. Of course, it was him. Her gaze flicked between her leader and her friend. What to do? This was a perfect time to show her loyalties but she could also tell Owlpaw to stop... Or not.
”It’s best not to bother, Mushroomstar, Owlpaw would sooner cut his own claws out then not seek out a fight” Her voice was a low sneer, meaning to be a punch in the gut. She then trotted to her leader's side, not caring if he wanted her there or not. It was meant as a statement. A statement against Owlpaw. Against her former clan.
Bluepaw then turned her gaze onto the rogue for the first time, letting out a wheeze. ”And who are you? If I had to guess I’d say you have a pathetic name like ‘El Douche’ or something. Rogues always act like they have a burr up their ass so they usually have shitty names.” Turning away from the rogue again she made sure to add ”No shit El Douche, If I had to describe you I’d say mouse, not very dangerous” She paused ”If you had to call city cats a real deal, the real deal would be a Rat. Easy to squash”
She then let out a low whistle at the bitch dying thing from Owlpaw, he learnt from the best. Obtaining an amused yet calm air she added dryly ”Then I guess your mother would be dead as well, well she'd die in hell for a second time” Did she mean it? No. But her ass was freezing off here and she wanted to speed this along. She also couldn’t help but blame Owlpaw for Nightpaw. She wanted him to feel the same way she felt when Nightpaw was gone. If you looked deep into her eyes, maybe you could see it.
Bluepaw let out a savage snarl at Owlpaw when he called Mushroombelly a fatass, although some amusement was behind her eyes. ”You’ll find that Mushroomstar is muscle, not fat” doing her best to keep a straight face. She then let out a little mock pout ”Unless you want to end up dead, I’d shut up to my leader. Not a threat, a promise"
Then the dumb kit charged again. Death wish much? Despite the stiffness in her muscles she darted to the side, kicking up a hell of a snow storm as she smashed into Owlpaw’s side. He was older now, but so was she. Pushing her weight into her shoulder, which she shoved into his armpit, she basically tried to lay on top of him. ”That’s enough, Owlpaw, unless you want me to cut your claws out” Her voice steely, her eyes blazing dangerously.

Everything you want is on the other side of fear.
It had been close to thirty minutes since the two Clans met along the outskirts of the twoleg city, yet neither clan had come to an agreement to continue traveling, much to Mushroomstars distaste. Frostkit had spent enough time with the older tom to understand what the glint in his eye or the tone behind his words meant, and he was clearly not happy about the groups indefinite pause as the sun continued to rise and therefore make the likelihood of them being spotted increase with every passing minute. Frostkit, however, didn't mind being given the opportunity to rest. He had sat down a while ago and was allowing the snow to numb the sore tissue in his legs from the long walk. Taking a break also allowed Frostkit to process all the thoughts racing through his head and, more importantly, take a long look at his new companions and try to be more comfortable with the fact that he'd be traveling alongside a Clan he knew nothing about for a long while yet. It made him nervous, obviously, but what didn't cause the nearly teenage aged tom a fresh wave of anxiety?
Frostkit was still trying to figure out what exactly he wanted to say to Msuhroomstar to try and mend the rift between them that he had undoubtedly caused. It was a sensitive subject to talk about, especially with a tom Frostkit had seen fly into an emotional rage followed by a complete meltdown at least once in his life. The thought of that being directed at him... Frostkit was taken out of his lingering thoughts by the sound of a yowl and Mushroomstar shoving his way through the crowd, away from where the high ranks had been standing at the front of the group. Instinctually, Frostkit rose to his paws and followed after his brother, easily weaving through cats in the leader's wake. He stopped as soon as he could see an apprentice fighting with another cat, his fear spiking through his body and causing his breath to momentarily hitch in his throat. Taking a few fearful steps back, Frostkit felt his rump collide with the leg of another cat and he quickly spun around, his eyes locking with the bicolored eyes belonging to Twopaw.
Twopaw had been in Windclan since Frostkit joined as a young kitten, leading him to believe she was Windclan born. It was hard for him to know for sure, of course, as Mushroomstar had kept him under a close watch, hardly ever letting him out of the leader's den unless Frostkit was with him. This led to Frostkit knowing almost none of the Windclan cats despite spending most of his life in their camps, which was now causing Frostkit to flinch away from Twopaw as he dropped his eyes from her face. "S-sorry!" Frostkit squeaked, much like a kitten despite his age. "I-I wasn't watching where I w-was going, I-I didn't mean to- I-I wasn't-" He didn't want this feline to yell at him, so his only option was to try to stutter through an apology that he wasn't sure how to give. "M'sorry," Frostkit finally whispered, taking another step away from the Windclan apprentice as if he were ready to run if she were to lash out at him. 548 words

- I'm falling so I'm taking my time on my ride - Twopaw was at the edge, or outside, of the Windclan cluster, observing as the clans introduced themselves. The young apprentice was severely claustrophobic and although all the bodies provided warmth, she'd rather not feel suffocated. Besides, being on the outer part of the Windclan cluster provided a great advantage; she could actually see what was going on!
A cry called from the back of Shadowclan's group. It was young and full of fear. Twopaw crouched and snarled something under her breath before stalking towards the back of Shadowclan's group. She gently shouldered people aside to see what all of the fuss was about and watched as a dirty rogue held onto an apprentice's hind paw. By the looks of it, the grip wasn't too tight to cause any damage but it sparked anxiety into Twopaw's heart.
Mushroomstar, the newly made Windclan leader shoved a small apprentice to the side and set fury in his eyes. The apprentice started spitting insults and curses at Mushroomstar. Twopaw looked around nervously. The rogue was clearly outnumbered but that didn't seem to worry him. Did he have back up? Or was it just him?
Suddenly a small kit collided with Twopaw and she quickly looked down at the kitten with soft, bi-colored eyes. Surprisingly enough, the kitten was more anxious than Twopaw was! In all fairness, this whole situation made her antsy. The clans hadn't even started their trek and already trouble was rising! I can tell this is going to be a long journey.
Twopaw shook her head to clear her thoughts and smiled down at the tom. She giggled. "Hey, little guy, it's okay!" She purred lightly, nudging him with her nose slightly. "You're alright." She smiled. Surely Twopaw was nothing to be afraid of! She was anything but scary. But maybe she wasn't scaring him, maybe he was just socially anxious. No matter. "I know that this rogue has no chance against Shadowclan and Windclan. Don't worry. I'm Twopaw, by the way." She meowed, a small smile on her face. 337 words

| Is it better to be feared or respected is it too much to ask for both? |
The feeble cries of the apprentices struck his ears with delight, an unnerved smirk crawling around the edges of Maplepaw's leg. His grip only hurt when she tugged, which was the idea. Bloodshed was little to his mind right now. He had priorities. Although looking back, he probably could've approached better. He was never a planner, more a think on your paws sort of guy.
The screeching of the male apprentice hurt his ears, high pitched and squealing. Not his thing. It did surprise him he could still hear that high at this age. No matter. His jaws delicately let go of the she cats leg before the hit of Owlpaw. His strikes were strongly emotional, yet feeble in physical strength. How boring. He swiped a heavy, snow laden paw at the tom's head to bat him out of the way, claws scratching his muzzle or maybe nose. He didn't care what, only that his ears were drawn forward by a shout. His eyes narrowed in the bellowing wind and he coldly stared down Mushroomstar. He cared little for these clan traditions of 'star' and special names. The voice was lost mostly to the wind, but mainly because Direstrait wasn't listening. He would not be spoken to in such a roughish manner. He was no pet.
The claws in his nose flared up a subdued anger, blue fire blazing in his eyes. How had DeNiro abandoned him now, at this time of joy? It was what they were searching for, wasn't it? He let out a snarl, turning into a laugh as frozen claws jabbed up into the lower jaw of Mushroomstar. He choked on a laugh at the feel of fat and fluff in his claws. What a pampered clan cat. He was undersized to battle such a pampered kitty, so pushed onto his hind legs to swipe with the other paw at the tom's head. Luckily for Dire, he'd lost all feeling in his nose many years ago, thanks to a lovely she-cat he'd craved for moons. What a delight she was. His mind was brought back to the present as he wrangled his way from the leader's grip, claws jabbing up into the tom's jaw.
"So cocky for someone in my city. How are you to know I'm not alone?" his voice was a somewhat hushed whisper, eyes staring, unwavering, into Mushroomstar's.
"If I wanted to make a move on you lot, I would've done it when you were separate, fox-brain. Check on the child, no harm came to her," he lent in close, pushing the claws further into his nose as he got closer.
"You'd do well to have someone like me while you're still on city grounds. There are worse lots than me."
His eyes flashed to Maplepaw, staring as if to force her to prove he did no harm. Bit creepy, but forceful if necessary. He only hoped his sick friend DeNiro would tag onto the end. He did not want to catch the clan's scents.
He almost pitied Owlpaw and his defiance of this leader cat. Good potential, shame he's a clan cat. He didn't struggle or do much as Owlpaw launched for him, almost savouring the feel of claws in his fur. It was a long time since he had a proper fight. He sighed, now was not the time.
A new voice hit his ears, and his eyes flashed in annoyance. How dare she interrupt? He drew himself out of Mushroomstar's grip, no doubt adding to the scarring on his own nose, and snapped his head to the owner of the soft, pathetic whining voice. It was bad enough she approached on his blind side, and now to spew this nonsense? What a fool. He was probably more annoyed at himself for not scenting her before, but alas he was a little preoccupied. He snorted at her words but said nothing to contradict her. If her kind-hearted words worked in his favour, he wasn't about to stop her.
Another child approached, spewing some nonsense, trying to assert her dominance over him. Fool. He was years older than her, and so settled his frosted gaze upon her, blind eye seemingly so clear at watching her unnervingly. As he went to shove Owlpaw off, the young she cat did it for him. How helpful. Direstrait did however snort at her comment.
"Muscle? Sure honey, that's what us old cats call fat. You speak a lot for a little kitty, shame you can't back it up with claws," he spoke softly, a dangerous line wavering as he watched her move.
"There, there, little Owlpaw. You'll get your chance," he flashed a black toothed smirk at the apprentice, raising a paw and wriggling his toes at the apprentice. He backed up a little for some breathing room round the rather large Mushroomstar, eyes glancing behind the leader. Counting maybe? He wasn't stupid, but perhaps he should have tried another approach. Too late to change it now. He glanced behind him, opening his jaws to bring in the scents, hopefully of other rogues who saw the same opportunity as him.
"Yeah so, whaddya say, big man? Care to let us join you on your jolly clan bandwagon for a good ride? What's the harm of a couple of rogues and an old man?" Direstrait purred his words, a glint in his eye some would call wild. Insane? Nah too common, besides DeNiro was the insane one now surely. They'd find out after all this journey for sure.

VipernoseA snarl began to form on the black and gray cat’s maw, as an angry glint clouded her eyes. Why the hell was he trying to piss her off? Didn’t he already know that she was freezing her ass off? She was fucking done with this whole journey thing already, and they hadn’t even started traveling yet. Her whole behavior changed with Mushroomstar’s words, for she went from okay to don’t-give-me-any-bullshit-or-I’ll-rip-your-head-off. Vipernose was not going to have any nonsense on this journey… She didn’t care who it came from.
She heard a yowl from the back of her clan and turned her head. What the hell? Why was Maplepaw flailing around? All the tabby could see was the female apprentice screaming like an idiot and Owlpaw with Otterkit. Then Owlpaw threw himself at something; what was he doing? The deputy turned completely around, and her questions were answered. A rather large, dark tom had bitten Maplepaw’s leg and now Owlpaw was attacking the rogue. Vipernose growled in disgust. What kind of shit was the damn tom eating? Was he really going to try to attack an apprentice when there were two clans standing right there? Sometimes cats could be really fucked up. The silver tabby knew it from her own experience.
The molly watched as Mushroomstar shoved through the ShadowClan cats, giving him a low hiss when he pushed past her. What the hell did he think he was doing? Who the hell did he think he was? Why the hell was he acting like he was in charge of everyone? Her eyes narrowed as the large leader pulled Owlpaw off the tabby rogue and threw him to the side. She held back her snarky comments as she watched the event playing out.
Vipernose could hear Owlpaw cursing this way and that, and she wondered where he had learned that kind of language. Although she had her own profanities racing through her head a mile a minute, Owlpaw was just an apprentice! And every other word in his sentences was not appropriate for small ears. The deputy watched as the tom threw himself at the dark tabby feline once more, and she could tell his attack was purely out of rage.
The black-striped she-cat heard a small voice and recognized it as Otterkit’s. She heard the small kit yelling and whining at Maplepaw, but her amber eyes couldn’t find him. Her search was interrupted by a new, feminine voice. A cat had appeared behind the rogue, and she seemed to be trying to make him stop. What an idiot, Vipernose thought bitterly. This one cat is attempting to talk a damn rogue out of starting a fucking fight. Ugh. She must not use that pretty little head of hers.
Vipernose then felt eyes on her, and she turned her head to meet the eyes of none other than Bluepaw. The tabby remembered the last time they had talked, and she knew what the judgement of the feline was of her. Fucked. Up. She knew the apprentice was pondering why Fallenstar had chosen Vipernose out of all cats, when the former queen was mentally messed up and everyone knew it. Her amber orbs watched as the she-cat turned away and padded through the ShadowClan cats to join Mushroomstar with the rogue and the unnamed female.
More words were shared, and the dark tabby tom seemed to start talking a lot more than he had been in the previous moments. The rogue turned this way and that as he spoke to each of the felines around him, and Vipernose now realized that a crowd had grown around him while she, the newly appointed deputy of ShadowClan, sat in the back and simply watched, with no thoughts whatsoever of stepping in to help.
She shrugged; why sit at the rear end unaffected when she could cause more drama by adding to the crowd around the rogue? The answer to that was obvious.
Vipernose wasn’t a damn idiot like everyone else seemed to be.
