Home Is Where Your Story Begins.
Plot rp- Open! Nine months ago, Windclan was driven from the moorlands they called home due to a mysterious plague. Seven months ago, Windclan had reformed in the city with the hope of returning to their fallen grasslands. Five months ago, Riverclan and Thunderclan perished in the worst winter the mountain cats had ever seen; one which the survivors promptly dubbed 'The Freeze'. Unknownst to the tired cats below, today would mark the day of new beginnings. Just as the late newleaf flowers bloomed, the surviving Clan cats would dig in their roots and flourish in their newfound territories.
At the head of the group, paving the way forward for those who were lucky enough to still be alive, were two toms. Mushroomstar of Windclan, and Owlscreech of Shadowclan. Behind them, their fellow ranks followed closely in toe, as each cat had an important role to play in accomplishing their Clans future success. These five high ranks would be the first cats to crest the hill that would reveal what lay before them, hidden just out of view from the rest of the cats.
As your paws reach the highest point of the hill, lush grass cushions your aching paw pads. A strong wind blows from the west, and for the first time in months the air that combs through your fur feels warm and pleasant. Below you, you are unable to find even a speck of snow still coating the earth, leaving you to gaze over a carpet of green grass. To the northwest, the hills become steeper and the grass yellows into the signature hue that accompanies moorlands, and with the breeze, you pick up the faint smell of heather. Turning your head to the southeast, huge redwood trees sprout taller than twoleg buildings, their thick canopy of leaves casting a huge shadow over its portion of the forest. Unable to make out the northeast portion of the land, your gaze falls to the land directly in front of you. This area seems split in half by a river that cuts through the land, leaving the half closer to you steep and scattered with rocks. You can hear the faint roar of a waterfall echo through your ears, and for the first time since The Journey began, you feel at home.
You are a survivor of The Freeze, and you've finally found a place you can call home.

VipernoseA gasp was the only thing that could be heard from her mouth as they reached the top of the hill. Not a gasp from exhaustion, no, but a gasp of happiness and relief. They had made it.
The tabby looked from one end of the gorgeous sight to the other, fascinated with how perfect it was. She could clearly see where every clan's home would be, even though two of them would be vacant.
Amber eyes found both brown pelts of Owlscreech and Ferntrail, and they were, too, gazing into the valley beneath them. The luscious trees, the delicate sway of the grass of the moorland... It was all theirs.
Vipernose couldn't help it; she genuinely grinned. There hadn't been a lot of honest happiness from her over the journey, but here it was... At the very end.
Yes, she had loved their old home. It held all of her finest memories... But now it was time to start a new life.
This was home now. _____________________________________________ "I thought nothing good would ever happen to me-that I was in hell after it froze over, thawed, and then burnt to the ground."

I am the Messiah Finally they were starting to get somewhere, somewhere that wasn't covered in damn snow. These last few moons had been so gruesome mentally and physically for just about every cat. While Mushroomstar was still no where saner than he was when they started seeing the new land did give a sparkle of hope that the black liquid could not put out in him.He had lost a good amount of weight though that would easily be gained back later at some point, or maybe not? He was a leader now after all he couldn't be out of shape like he was as a medicine cat, he needed to get into fighting again if he was to protect his new home. The large tom suddenly booted himself in the rear it seemed because he was rushing up the hill till he went over it out of sight of the rest of the clans. He just started running and running until even they couldn't hear him. He stood on a rocky ledge similar to the one in the old windclan camp bu a bit smaller and not as high up.
He took a deep breath of the fresh air and in a rather rusty low voice he began to sing a tune. His head lowered as he began "I once thought...I once thought...I once thought...That I wasn't enough..." His head raised by each once thought phrase. He continued far from others ears "I once thought I was a failure, I thought that I would never see the daylight again." He reared his head up "I thought that I would crumble again." He leaped off the rock and began to walk in the new land till he stopped and held his head "My thoughts are what consume me. My thoughts are what guide me." He leaped again onto a small dirt path that winded around the terrain "Down the winding road they lead me astray" He glanced back at the group of cats that had finally made it up the hill though perhaps still couldn't hear him which he hoped. He always had a soul for singing when he was little but he hadn't sang in a long time. He got it from his father's side really. He stared at his paws and whispered a song "Blood at my paws now. Blood on my tongue now." He gave a wheeze as he sang "I'm not that innocent boy anymore..." He felt a second wind come onto him as he began to run again, his voice louder and more confident as he ran "Now its my time to shine! My time to rise! My time to show the world, all that I have in store!" He leaped off another rock heading up a steeper hill "Now its my time to lead! my time to be, just who I wanted to be!" Once he got to the top he breathed heavily in and out, the breeze running through his fur now. His voice was smoother and calmer now "Here on the mountain tops, I feel the breeze, rushing through me. I can hear its call, " He took a deep breath "for me to finally be free." He held the note for free for a while till he had more air. He rested there letting the other cats play catch up as he looked at the new world he would be helping make. He always wanted to be a founder of something.
If only he knew they weren't really alone.

I said hey look Ma, I made it.
Off to his side, a pelt of a deep golden color darted ahead of him. Blinking his eyes in surprise, Owlscreech felt his brows knit together in curiosity as he watched as Mushroomstar full on sprinted up the rest of the hill. The tom had been moping around, seemingly dragging his feet ever since Owlscreech had won Shadowclan back from him, but now... now... Owlscreech didn't know what was happening honestly. He stared at the Windclan leader as he disappeared over the hill, his face screwed up in a clear sign of bewilderment.
Mushroomstar had finally fucking lost it.
Picking up his pace, Owlscreech lightly jogged up the rest of the hillside, ignoring the way his muscles screamed for him to slow down. Every cat was tired after their long journey, and even the strongest warriors felt exhaustion in every bone that resided in their bodies. Owlscreech was no exception to this rule. As the tom reached the peak, he stopped. His sides heaved while, at the same time, it felt like all the air in his lungs was sucked out of his body. The landscape below him was beautiful, and-
... Owlscreech felt his eyes being drawn back to Mushroomstar. The tom was frolicking amongst the grass and boulders, leaping frantically down the hillside with sporadic movements. What the fuck was happening? The Shadowclan leader shot Vipernose and Ferntrail a confused glance, but as far as he could tell they weren't paying any attention to the tom below. In fact, it looked as though Vipernose might burst into tears at any moment. With a small chuckle, Owlscreech flicked his tail before bounding down the side of the hill, a new energy seeping into his legs to help propel him forwards. By the end of today, Shadowclan would have a suitable camp where they could rest and fall back into their normal routine. And he'd be damned if he let Mushroomstar try to claim the best land for Windclan. 328 words

Whitesparrow
"Can you see, even without the light?"
The albino she-cat would have been trailing behind others, paws aching, eyes stinging, skin burning, she wanted to rest but she wasn't going to be one to slow down others. After all is felt like the more stops that were made the longer anything would take, thus she pushed on. Whitesparrow's sensitive eyes could barely see in front of her, it was lucky when she didn't bump into anyone but she would notice the bright white ice particles on the ground started to fade. Was there greenery starting to show?
She would start to notice that figures in front of her were rushing off, what did they see? She would attempt to pick up her pace so she could see if it were possible. Paws pushing against the slop that made the hill until there was a downward angle which would make her come to a quick halt so she didn't tumble down. Her gaze was squinted, trying to make out what she could as the sun was beating upon her pale skin. All she could see was a blinding ray in front of her mixed with different shades of green blobs fusing together. She was missing something great wasn't she?
"What does everyone see?" She muttered to herself but it could have been heard by anyone close enough. A paw raised as she attempted to shade her blue and pink gaze. Excitement surrounded her by others of the clans but she was missing something. She was guessing it was a beautiful landscape, oh if only it was night. She tried to imagine a landscape with the blue shades and white glow of the moonlight to try to fit in with the excitement.

Blue blinked as he heard and smelled the scent of a familar white molly with a feather by her neck. "Whitesparrow." He called out as he tries to reach her but stumbles down the hill with an 'humph' landing on softly grassy ground with trees nearby. He quickly checked to make sure his blue feather was still on his ear before reaching Whitesparrow his pelt now dirty. "Well there is plenty of grassy like land and trees for both clans....Both Owlscreech and Bluepaw should be happy." He said with a smile but pauses at the thought. 'without me.' He thought remembering the fight when he found his missing siblings again tho he's slowly remembering thing from his past.

She who is brave is free.
"Directly in front of your paws, the hill slopes downward until it eventually levels into a relatively flat surface," came the soft meow of one of Shadowclans newest members, Bravepaw. The she-cat had been closer to the middle of the group when cats began to race forward and, following close on their heels, the molly had noticed Whitesparrow staggering behind. She had observed the way the pure white cat squinted against the sunlight and, upon hearing the question voiced to herself, decided to act as the other felines eyes.
"From here, the soft grass thins into a path of rough stone, and jagged rocks rise skyward to form a steep cliff. It looks like the waves have carved a deep shape into the side of this cliff, and it closely resembles a quarter moon." Smiling now, Bravepaw continued. "Waves wash gently onto the sandy shore at its base, but I can't see what's directly behind the cliff. Further away, I can see the rock transitioning back into thick grass, but this time it's dry and yellowed. The steep rockface is replaced with gentle hills." As she describes what she's seeing, Bravepaw flicks her tail closely to Whitesparrows face in an attempt to point her in the direction she's describing, so she can follow along more easily. Now, the she-cat is squishing her tail towards the southern end. "Over here, things are harder to make out. Large trees have sprouted and they're closely packed together, sheltering the view of what may be inside its forest. The leaves are thick and green, and the trunks of these trees are wider than anything I've ever seen before. Unfortunately, the forest here blocks what's behind it as well."
As a blue tomcat comes up on Whitesparrows other side, Bravepaw blinks a greeting to him. He seemed to know Whitesparrow and unofficially taught the new apprentice her name. "I'm Bravepaw, by the way," The she-cat purred happily. "It's a pleasure to meet both of you! We should hurry, though, the others may leave us behind if we wait here much longer." 346 words

Whitesparrow
"Can you see, even without the light?" The she-cats ears perked as a soft voice echoed into her ear drums, the start of a description of what she was missing. Whitesparrow would allow herself to soak up the information the apprentice next to her was giving her, imagining the valley in good detail from how descriptive Bravepaw was. Images of the lapping sea, wavy cuts of the cliff and yellowed grass all slid over as if a picture show.
Honestly the sound of the forest sounded pleasant, sure she wasn't able to be given information about it but just the dark atmosphere would be so easy on her eyes. So much better then in the bright sun like she was now, missing so much with her own eyes. She would turn her gaze after Bravepaw stopped describing the land before dipping her cranium "Thank you" She spoke before her attention would be brought to the known vocals of the Russian blue.
"Well it seems like many will be happy if that is so, a home" She purred, it was nice to think of a home. Walking so much was tiring and not having to talk in the sunlight would be heaven to her. Her gaze would finally try to look at the tom, noticing the dirt on his pelt, "Goodness! What happened to your poor coat, looks like you rolled in a dirt pile" She meowed before listening to Bravepaw.
"Pleasure to meet you Bravepaw and it seems you are right." She agreed before starting to take a few careful steps forward, attempting to get use to the incline so she didn't trip. Her tail would flick slightly as she moved, gently brushing off a bit of dirt that was on Blue's coat but there was no time for stopping. "Let us not get left behind then, the view sounded beautiful though" She added.

Blue blushed and tries to shake some of the dirt off his pelt, "I...I took a tumble." He said as he nudges Whitesparrow playfully, "I'm sure Owlscreech would find the perfect home for Shadowclan, he is my brother all." He glances to Bravepaw curiously and smiles, "Hi Bravepaw, I'm Blue, Owlscreech knows me mainly by Lizardpaw tho." He said blushing but giggles as he runs under Whitesparrow and lifts her up by his back, "Relax and enjoy the tour. We won't fall behind unless I take a tumble again." He said trying to make her laugh.

The journey continued as it did, Stonefrost wasn't exactly a big fan of an apprentice aged cat getting the role of leader but Stonefrost was too new to this clan to try to assert himself even if he wanted the role badly. Though he saw weakness in the deputy and he did not like it. She refused to be a leader and let an apprentice surpass her, it was weak. If she kept going down this road Stonefrost would have no respect for her and might try to get rid of her like hes done before with another deputy in his old clan. The very tall muscular tom was walking with his two kits and the female who he invited to walk with them, Speckleleap.
The windclan leader rushed up the hill as they finally touched land that wasnt in snow, was this it? Was this their destination then? Stonefrost hope so because he was aching to get back to actual work and patrols. He wanted shadowclan to claim as much land as they could, possibly choke out windclan if they could. Anything to ensure the success of his clan.

Speckledleap made good use of her name as she sneaks closer to the tom Stonefrost, her pelt trembles as she prepared for a pounce and leaps landing on his back playfully, her eyes pupils were large and diluted her face landed on some catnip and made her a bit crazy as she purrs heavily acting like her windclan/shadowclan mother Mudtail, "Hey Stonefrost." She said as she rolled off of him and rolls in the grass.

| This whole journey had been a roller coaster of bad choices and bad events. Hollowdusk stayed out of the most recent drama with Owlpaw, now Owlscreech taking leadership. While Hollowdusk wasn't fond of it he would learn to live it. He and Raccoonleap shared complaints about tradition going down the drain with the deputy refusing leadership. Hollowdusk wasn't sure what the female was waiting for if she wasn't ready yet. It just all seemed weird, more weird that a cat much younger than him was now leading him. He knew it wouldn't be good. Owlscreech and Mushroombelly had very similar attitudes. Both had anger issues and neither could coop with it well. Hollowdusk only hoped that Owlscreech will do something Mushroombelly couldn't do, learn to control his anger. If not Hollowdusk would not stay in this clan and neither would his family. Family came first for Hollowdusk and he would not let his family see a bad leader of shadowclan. He almost left when pumpkinstar was leader because of how cruel he was. No father want their son to grow in a bad environment. |
Stonefrost jolted a bit when Speckleleap suddenly tackled him, he almost bared his fangs at her because of it. He was not a playful tom, did she not know this still? He was a serious cat he didn't play a lot. He gave a rough snort as the female rolled off him onto the grass. He meowed to her "Hello Speckleleap, seems we will be parting ways I assume. I know Owlscreech has no desire to stay near your clan. So you best play with Beekit and Mistykit while you can, they've enjoyed your company these last few days. I've noticed."

Speckledleap sighs, "so where are they now?" She asked sadden by the news and her voice showed it."I'm sorry my leader made a mess of things." She said sitting on her side.

It’s a new dawn, it’s a new day, it’s a new life And I’m feelin’ Good... After the fox attack, Ash had followed the two clans from a distance.
After his talk with Owlpaw a few days before the red mammals came had completely altered how the gray rogue saw things. He hadn't stopped thinking about himself, of course not. But he had realized there was another purpose to his life than just seducing a bunch of she-cats and then forgetting about them the next day. He had realized that maybe that wasn't the only thing he was meant to do in his life. Maybe his fate was something else. Maybe he was always destined to be a forest cat...
Through his observing from the trees quite far away from the other cats, Ash hadn't exactly picked up on everything that had happened. He hadn't understood what had happened when the fat, orange tom who seemed to be leading them all got in a fight with Owlpaw. After their quarrel, everyone seemed to surround the younger feline with cheers, but the gray tom still had no idea why.
And now the cats were coming to a sudden stop at the top of a very large hill. Ash was too busy trying to catch his breath to go and see what everyone was so excited about. Just because he believed he was in good shape didn't really mean that he was. But he did know that he was in much better shape than the large leader who had now disappeared over the other side of the hill.
Once he was done over-dramatically gasping for air, the rogue allowed himself to peek through the trees at the peak of the hill. What he looked down upon was not the beautiful sight of a new home that everyone else saw, but an orange cat dancing below them all. He could focus on nothing but that tom, and trying to figure out what in tarnation he was doing.
This was the first time that Ash questioned his motive for joining the clans. 332 words ✿ EDEL ✿

death doesn't discriminate The freckled she-cat had felt The Journey drawing to an end but she had not expected it to be this soon. Starclan had not spoken to her since she had been appointed, and she had to admit it was chilling. Right after she had been appointed she had felt them watching the Clans, guiding them. At a certain point they just stopped and she guessed it was another sign they were here. Perhaps they were checking out the new moon pool, or squabbling with each other about what clan was going where.
Ferntrail had to keep reminding herself to stay in the present and not daydream about the stars, to focus on her job. Like any new thing she was still a bit awkward at it but so far she had got nothing but support. Excitement and anticipation bubbled through her at the thought of helping Whitesparrow. Being Albino was a genetic condition, Ferntrail wouldn’t be able to help her there… But she knew plenty of herbs that could soothe her conditions. There was still so many herbs out there that Ferntrail didn’t know! Starclan had blessed her with the basics, Yarrow, Mouse-bile,Marigold, Catmint and things like that, but the more advanced herbs were still a mystery. Ferntrail had found this large green starred leaf, the tang a giveaway that it was a herb. Many hours of her life had already been spent staring at the leaf. Whenever she got close to the use, something would fizz in her mind and then burn out as she got it wrong.
It had ended up frustrating her she had ripped it to shreds, cursing fouly at it. Ferntrail’s temper could peak easily but wasn’t easy to lure out. Simple things like that could wind her up into a fury in a heartbeat, almost as easily as she got off topic. Like she was doing right now. The large molly had ended up smacking her toes into a rock, falling back onto the cat behind her. She turned her head to murmur an apology in their direction but they simple side-stepped her to continue gazing forward. What was up? Ferntrail then turned her head and her jaw dropped. The territory before her was perfect. Water bubbling loud enough for her to hear above the buzzing in her ears, the lands stretching out as far as she could see. From groves of massive redwood trees to sprawling moorlands it had it all.
This was it, the clans new home. She had lived, she had lived to see this. Ferntrail wasn’t embarrassed by the tears that rolled down her face, her breaths shuddering and long. ”Thank you, Starclan” she murmured under her breath. She then turned her bright green eyes, shimmering with tears, on Owlpaw. ”We have made it, we are here” she called out in a hoarse voice, a broad smile upon her lips.
She could rest easy tonight, knowing her clan wasn’t going to die out in the middle of nowhere, remembered by no one. Shadowclan was here now and no matter what they faced they sure as hell weren’t leaving.
